There was a time, when I was caught up with the challenges that life took me through and I was focusing more on the problems rather than looking at solutions to overcome those problems. The more I focused on the problems, the greater self-pity I felt and that made me feel completely drained out, with no energy left to do the important tasks in my life. It made me feel exhausted whereas the output in terms of my productivity was negligible. That’s the power of the negative emotions that we go through.
I had forgotten my dreams, goals and was constantly surrounded by the problems in my life. I actually got frustrated by the constant worry I was going through. That’s when I decided to turn things around and felt the need to work on myself. I looked at various aspects of self-growth. There are many good reasons to pursue personal growth. The more I worked on myself, I found many doors opening up for me. It made me better. It helped in achieving my career goals. Over time, it created great momentum in my life. That in turn encouraged me to grow even more. I started to place a greater emphasis on growing than on arriving, which made it easier to overcome and learn from my failures.
Above all, it increased hope. It taught me that tomorrow can be better than today and that’s what kept me going. It helped me move from point A to B to C and I am still on the journey of self-growth. Let me highlight the areas that personal growth has helped me improve on:-
- Healthier Relationships – It helped me improve my personal and professional relationships and above all my relationship with self.

- Improved Peace of Mind – My heightened understanding of self and others, has contributed to a greater sense of peace and acceptance overall.
